What does it cost to compete?
UK Ultimate receives no external funding. Every cost is passed directly to players and families. The numbers below are a guide to the actual costs, and are subject to change as we finalise the details throughout the year.
Medical Physio
Keeping players healthy and tournament-ready requires professional medical and physiotherapy support. We don’t have medical emergencies every year, but they do happen, and in those moments it makes a huge difference to have expert medical support in the team.

Management & Coaching Staff
Each of the GB Youth squads has player-funded volunteers in Squad Manager, Lead and Assistant Coach roles. The team also funds our GBY Programme Manager travel costs. Sometimes there are additional assistant coaches, but their costs are not funded by players.

Entry fees
Entry fees to International Ultimate events are a combination of a Team Fee and individual Player Fees.

Player Accommodation
Accommodation for the duration of the tournament is always a major component of the total cost. Options for different tournaments can vary quite a bit, as we seek to strike the balance between cost and ensuring everyone can be well-rested across a physically and emotionally demanding week!

Food
Food costs also mount up across a week (or longer) of accommodation in and around the tournament. Keeping the players well-fueled is critical.

Training
Each squad trains or meets on average once a month between selection and the tournament. Costs include venue hire, travel expenses for volunteers, and sometimes overnight accommodation and food.

Where does the money go?

All funds raised go directly to UK Ultimate, who use it to offset Finley's participation costs. There are no platform fees deducted from your donation.

If Finley raises enough to partially or fully cover payments that have already made to UK Ultimate, then that amount will be refunded.

If Finley raises more than needed (after being refunded for any payments they had already made), any surplus is carried forward to support their team (as a team-donation).
